LFWend Catwalk Part 1

Hi guys!

So as promised in my last post, this post includes two looks from the trend catwalk at London Fashion Weekend (another two coming up in the next post). These looks are all wearable and each trend included so many versatile pieces that could cater for people with different styles.

ONE AND ONLY

Made up of blues deep and blushing pinks, most of these looks can easily be taken from day to night. The dresses make great evening outfits whilst the daytime looks so effortlessly stylish and comfortable. (Big up the oversized blue sweater I sometimes buy normal jumpers two sizes bigger hehe).

CANDY CRUSH

Pastels are given a nice twist in some of these looks with some fur! Most of these looks are leaning on a soft, flowing side lending them elegance for evening time. My favourite has to be the first and last one both different from each other in terms of structure and the detail is really pretty and delicate.

London Fashion Weekend

My first catwalk and Canon 360 experience, overwhelming excitement and a whole lot of picture taking.

I was one of the lucky load of people to be chosen to photograph a catwalk show at London Fashion Weekend thanks to Canon Student Network! 

We all had to meet at the One Aldwych hotel (fancyy) to get a little talk on fashion photography from a fashion photographer (came in a little late so missed the introductions) and sign the forms to say we won't sell the images etc. 

We then walked a couple of minutes to Somerset house to get our places in the photographers pit and change our camera settings before the show started.

Angela Scanlon hosted the show-stylishly of course- before the main catwalk started.

After the show we got to have a go at the Canon 360 experience where we had to put on 3D glasses and got to live the life of a model for a couple of minutes! I went from sitting in a taxi to walking on the runway it was so cool! Also, while I was seeing myself in hair and makeup, the Canon team pretended to do my makeup giving me a true 4D experience.

That wraps up a rundown of my day at LFWend! I had such an amazing time and would love to do it again. As for the fashion show, I will do two separate blogs with two catwalk looks on each as we shot four shows the clothes were just beautiful!

Random beauty favourites

Hi everyone!

I have to admit I rarely wear makeup anymore except for special occasions or sometimes when I'm meeting the girls and know pictures will be taken haha. These favourites aren't anything new on the market just some staples that have worked for me time and time again without requiring much effort so let's jump in!

Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Foundation

I'm in the shade 3.5 

I can't say enough good things about this foundation. I am lucky that I have minimal blemishes and no scarring. (Hence why I bought 'light' and not the original) however when it comes to foundation my skin doesn't want to cooperate. I have very dry to combination skin so I find foundation tends to disintegrate around the nose and chin area. Double Wear Light just sinks into my skin and it looks nice and glowy in pictures. Holy grail foundation!

Benefit They're Real Mascara

I'm not really big on mascaras because my eyelashes tend to drop after a while no matter what I use however I recently tried this and it keeps them lifted for longer making them look fuller too.

Soap and Glory Powder Trip

Ahh who doesn't love the quirkiness of Soap and Glory? The quirkiness comes at an affordable price too making it even better for those just starting out in makeup or even those who have been interested in makeup for a long time. This palette includes travel size compacts of 'Solar powder' a bronzer and highlighter combo, 'Glow all out' a really pretty shimmery highlighter and 'Love at First Blush' a blush made up of different shimmery pinks and browns which gives a really nice glow. This was a birthday gift (thanks bex!) and is perfect for taking on the go. They're moderately pigmented and are perfect to achieve that all natural glow. Unfortunately I can't seem to find it online but individual full size can be bought at Boots or on the Soap and glory website :)

Urban Decay Naked Palette

This palette has been out for ages and is a staple for most beauty bloggers and YouTuber's and it's obvious why! I use this palette consistently for base colours as the pigment is just amazing. This was also a birthday present from last year (thanks Fahmidaaa) and I'm just eager to get the Naked 3 now (I'm a lover of pinks).

Avon bronzer

I don't even know if Avon do this anymore but it had to be added I am still as obsessed as ever! My Mum loves ordering from Avon and I had a bronzer addiction (actually I still have a bronzer addiction lol) and ordered this. I apply it with a Kabuki brush and it just gives my skin a warm lift as I have a very yellow undertone which can make me look ill at times.

Maybelline FIT Me Concealer

Being a Collection 2000 fan for a long time, it took me ages to jump on to the FIT me bandwagon and boy am I glad that I did! It's much more creamier than the Collection concealer and it didn't sink into any lines under my eyes. I'm always a bit wary about getting concealers because I don't like the colour matching faff but this is definitely worth it considering how cheap it is.

Sleek Storm Palette

It looks a bit battered but only because I love it! I love the black eyeshadow to use as smudged out 'eyeliner' (I'm hopeless at eyeliner) and it's perfect for when I don't want to spend too long getting ready. Again it's an absolute bargain with great payoff on most shades.

So that's it, my go to makeup items for suitable daytime looks and can also be used to create great evening looks too if needed. I know I haven't added any lipsticks but I have got my eye on some new ones so want to save them for another post and I will do some looks using these items. Nothing can beat an actual book. I just love the smell of books and I like how the condition of a book I keep shows how much I loved the story. (the tattier it is, the more well loved it is lol)

Current favourite is Estee Lauder. Double wear Light does things to my skin that makes ma haapyyy

Favourite country/Island?

Haven't been anywhere except Pakistan sadly but I would love to visit Santorini, Greece because it just looks so cute with the little houses in the cliffs.

Awkward. I'm just so socially awkward at times lol

Colours or Black white? why?

Black and white. Everything just looks so much more dramatic to me in black and white.

Street Style

Living in London gives me the advantage of seeing fashion ranging from 'normal' (can fashion be described as normal?) to just downright weird but also quite amazing! I love walking in Central London and seeing peoples personality come out through the way they dress, it can really inspire great outfit ideas.

I went to Westfield Stratford City to take street style photographs and two outfits really caught my eye as they were simple but the simplicity with the small details is what made them stand out.

Louis rocked simplicity with an edge and spiced it up with some vintage Chanel. 

He got the little details right with the watch and ring both bringing out his edgy and sophisticated side. The scarf with skulls complimented his ring so well.

I fell in love with the bag that topped it all off! (gotta respect a guy that could pull this off so well) The quilt detail softened everything up a little and the bracelet complimented the detailing on the bag.

Kimonos are a really big thing this summer and can dress up a simple outfit perfectly as this lady proves! (also did not want her face shown haha) The floral fringed kimono spices up the simplistic outfit not to mention the cute embroidered bag which makes me think of festivals. Another big thing this summer has to be jelly gladiator shoes! If you can rock them as well as this lovely lady then they are a summer staple for you.
